Coding
Car coding is a relatively new thing in the automotive world, and it involves software modifications to a vehicle to allow the use of functions not available in the car when it left the factory for different reasons, mainly local regulations. Coding does not imply changing the software! It only changes pre-programed options already existent in the software.
Just like tuners access the ECU of a vehicle for a reflash, and like service technicians would use the OBD II port to check the error codes on a vehicle, car coders can use the same diagnostics port to enable new functions for a vehicle.
Programming
Most modern cars now have a multitude of modules to perform specific tasks within a car system. If these become faulty it is not as simple as just replacing the faulty module, they needed to be reprogrammed for the specific car.
Here at Motor Performance Specialists we have the latest technology and highly trained technicians to perform these tasks for the majority of vehicles on UK roads.
